Map Search & Pricing in PoE2 with Exiled Exchange 2
Maps are the core endgame loop in Path of Exile 2, and trading maps — buying the ones you want to run, selling the ones that do not fit your build — is a steady source of income. Exiled Exchange 2 price-checks maps with the same Ctrl+C workflow it uses for gear and currency, but maps have their own quirks that this guide covers.
What Makes a Map Valuable
A map’s price is driven by a few factors, and understanding them helps you read the overlay intelligently:
- Map tier. Higher-tier maps are worth more because they drop better loot and are required to progress the atlas.
- Rarity and quantity rolls. A map with high item quantity and rarity rolls is more valuable because it drops more and better loot when run.
- Notable modifiers and pack size. Some map mods are popular for specific builds; others are bricked for many builds. Pack size directly affects loot volume.
- Atlas passive synergy. Some maps are worth more in a given league because they align with the current atlas passive strategy many players are running.
Exiled Exchange 2 surfaces the listing-based market value, but the reason a map is cheap or expensive usually comes down to one of the factors above.
The Map Price-Check Workflow
Pricing a map is identical to pricing any other item:
- Hover the map in your inventory or stash.
- Press Ctrl+C (or your configured trigger).
- Read the overlay.
The overlay shows recent comparable listings and a price range. For maps, “comparable” is defined by the map type and tier; the specific modifier rolls of your particular map will shift its true value within or beyond that range, so treat the overlay number as a starting point rather than an exact quote.
Reading the Overlay for Maps
When you price-check a map, pay attention to:
- Listing count. A map with fifty listings has a reliable market price. One with two listings is much harder to value — your particular roll could be worth noticeably more or less.
- The spread. Maps with wide spreads are usually ones where modifier quality varies a lot between listings. If the spread is wide, look at your own rolls and judge where in the range you sit.
- Recent vs. stale. Map markets move quickly within a league. Recent listings are a better signal than the full historical average.
Selling Maps Efficiently
A few habits make map trading more profitable:
- Batch similar maps. Listing five copies of the same map at a competitive price clears faster than listing one at an optimistic price.
- Price against the low end for fast sales. If you want currency quickly, price slightly below the cluster of recent listings. If you can wait, price at or slightly above and relist if it does not sell.
- Note which mods sell. Over time you will notice that certain map mods sell faster in your league’s meta. Lean into those when choosing what to run and what to list.
- Check before you vendor. Some mid-tier maps look worthless but are actually in demand for atlas strategies. A quick price-check before vendoring prevents giving away value.
Buying Maps Intelligently
When buying maps to run:
- Compare the map’s price to the expected loot return. A cheap map with good rolls is often a better deal than an expensive one with perfect rolls, because the marginal loot from perfect rolls rarely justifies a large price premium.
- Buy in small batches to test whether a map type suits your build before committing to a bulk purchase.
- Use the currency exchange ratios to value maps in whatever currency the seller prefers.
When Map Pricing Is Unclear
Brand-new maps, recently-rebalanced mods, or maps that just entered the rotation may have thin data. In those cases the overlay will show a wide range or no signal at all. Wait a day or two for listings to accumulate, or fall back to manual checking on the official trade site.
