Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Exiled Exchange 2 — ban risk, how it reads items, language support, downloads, and its relationship to Awakened PoE Trade.

Will GGG ban me for using Exiled Exchange 2?

Exiled Exchange 2 reads the clipboard (text you copied), not game memory, and draws a transparent overlay — the same general approach used by accepted community price-checking tools for years. It does not automate gameplay or interact with the PoE2 client beyond what you copy. We are not aware of bans specific to the tool, but any third-party overlay is used at your own risk; only Grinding Gear Games can make definitive statements about enforcement.

How does Exiled Exchange 2 read items?

You hover an item in Path of Exile 2 and press Ctrl+C. PoE2 copies a structured text description to your clipboard, and Exiled Exchange 2 parses that text to identify the item and fetch live pricing. It does not read game memory or inject code into the client. An optional OCR mode exists for UI states where the clipboard does not yield parseable text.

Why can’t Exiled Exchange 2 price-check some items?

Some UI states, unsupported languages, or unusual item layouts may not parse cleanly from the clipboard. Try the OCR mode for those cases, or check the OCR setup guide when it is available. If parsing fails consistently, it may also mean the item type is not well-covered by current market data.

Which languages are supported?

English is the primary target language for item parsing. Support for other client languages depends on community contributions and may be incomplete. If you play in a non-English client and parsing fails, switching the PoE2 client to English for trading sessions is a common workaround.

I downloaded a source-code .zip — what now?

You grabbed the raw source archive from GitHub, not a runnable build. Go back to the official GitHub Releases page and download the compiled release archive for your platform instead. The source zip is intended for developers, not for running the tool directly.

Does Exiled Exchange 2 support Path of Exile 1?

No. Exiled Exchange 2 targets Path of Exile 2 specifically. For Path of Exile 1, use Awakened PoE Trade (APT), which remains focused on PoE1. The two tools target different games.

Is Exiled Exchange 2 related to Awakened PoE Trade?

Exiled Exchange 2 is the recognized community successor to Awakened PoE Trade for the PoE2 era. APT does not support Path of Exile 2; its maintainer has stated this publicly. The tool carries the same clipboard-overlay price-check idea forward for PoE2. See our Awakened PoE Trade for PoE 2 page for the full comparison.

Where do I download Exiled Exchange 2?

Only from the official GitHub Releases: https://github.com/Kvan7/Exiled-Exchange-2/releases. This site hosts no binaries. Always avoid third-party mirrors and look-alike domains, which are not affiliated with the developers and may host modified builds.

Is Exiled Exchange 2 free?

Yes. Exiled Exchange 2 is free and open-source, released under a permissive license on GitHub. There is no paid version, no account, and no in-app purchase.

Which platforms does Exiled Exchange 2 support?

Exiled Exchange 2 runs on Windows 10/11 and Linux as a desktop application you launch alongside Path of Exile 2. There is no in-game plugin and no web version.
