Exiled Exchange 2 Keyboard Shortcuts Reference
Exiled Exchange 2 is designed to be operated entirely from the keyboard while Path of Exile 2 is in focus. The default keybinds are chosen to avoid conflicting with common PoE2 binds, but every trigger can be customized. This guide is a complete reference of the default shortcuts and how to change them.
The Core Interaction: Ctrl+C
The single most important “shortcut” is not really an Exiled Exchange 2 binding at all — it is the standard copy shortcut:
- Ctrl+C while hovering an item copies that item’s text description to the clipboard, which it then parses and prices.
This works because Path of Exile 2 itself writes structured item text to the clipboard on Ctrl+C. The tool simply listens for clipboard changes. Because of this, the price-check trigger does not appear in its keybind settings — it inherits whatever your system uses for copy.
Default Keybinds
Exiled Exchange 2 exposes a handful of additional actions that do have configurable keybinds. The defaults are:
- Ctrl+C (hovering an item) — Price-check the hovered item. This is the clipboard trigger described above.
- Ctrl+D (hovering an item) — A common alternative trigger some users prefer, configurable in settings.
- Overlay toggle — Show or hide the overlay entirely. Useful when you are not trading and want a completely clean screen, for example during a boss fight.
- OCR trigger — When OCR mode is enabled, a dedicated hotkey reads the screen region under your cursor instead of relying on the clipboard. See the OCR setup guide for details.
- Close overlay / dismiss — Close the current price-check overlay without waiting for it to auto-dismiss.
The exact default keys can vary slightly between releases, so the authoritative list is always the keybinds panel inside its own settings window.
Customizing Keybinds
To change any configurable shortcut:
- Open the Exiled Exchange 2 settings window (the system tray icon or the in-app settings button).
- Navigate to the Hotkeys or Keybinds section.
- Click the binding you want to change.
- Press the new key combination.
- Save and close.
It will warn you if a chosen combination conflicts with an existing binding inside the tool. It cannot, however, know about conflicts with bindings inside Path of Exile 2 itself, so pick combinations you do not already use in PoE2.
Choosing Good Keybinds
A few principles help avoid frustration:
- Keep the price-check trigger on Ctrl+C. Because PoE2 writes the item text on Ctrl+C, this is the most reliable trigger. Rebinding it away from Ctrl+C does not change what PoE2 copies — it only changes what the tool listens for.
- Avoid keys you use in combat. A keybind that fires a flask or a movement skill in PoE2 is a bad choice for an overlay toggle, since you do not want to dismiss the overlay mid-fight by accident.
- Use modifier combinations for rare actions. The overlay toggle and OCR trigger are used infrequently, so a two-key combination (Ctrl+Shift+something) is fine and keeps simple keys free.
- Match your muscle memory from PoE1 tools. If you are migrating from Awakened PoE Trade, keeping similar bindings eases the transition.
When Shortcuts Do Not Respond
If pressing the trigger key does nothing:
- Confirm Exiled Exchange 2 is running (check the system tray).
- Confirm the Path of Exile 2 window is focused — it listens to the clipboard globally, but the overlay renders relative to the game window.
- Check that another application has not grabbed the same global hotkey.
- If you rebound a key and it stopped working, open settings and reset it to the default.
